Schubert Centre Tai Chi Club
There have been Tai Chi classes at the Schubert Centre for over 20 years. In 2011 the Schubert Centre Tai Chi Club was formed and is now one of the regular activities available at the Schubert Centre. Tai Chi students are encouraged to become Schubert Centre members to support the Schubert Centre and its activities.
Benefits of Tai Chi:
The main focus of Tai Chi is health improvement. Tai Chi is a very gentle way of stretching and strengthening muscles and joints. Tai Chi reduces stress by emphasizing relaxation. Tai Chi also recognizes the importance that the mind plays in total wellbeing. The social aspect is equally important to many as the exercise itself.
- Tuesdays and Fridays 4:00 - 5:00 pm
The beginners class generally runs for nine (9) to twelve (12) months a year, depending on need and the group dynamics. The class introduces you to the foundation exercises of Tai Chi as well as the 108 moves found within the set. The classes are progressive over the extended period of time.
- Mondays and Thursdays 8:30 - 9:30 am
These classes include exercises, some instruction/review and the Tai Chi set. Anyone who has completed a beginner class is welcome at the ongoing classes.
Fees for the beginner and ongoing classes are $50.00 for four (4) months or $12.50 per month. Fees are payable at the first class in January, May, and September. Payment may be made in exact cash or by cheque.
